This course provides an overview of information management and enriches student’s knowledge of database design and the use of SQL. It aims to teach them to assess a database system, design a database based on user requirements, and to further the use of SQL in gathering information from the database. Topics include information management concepts, database design and modeling, SQL, and implementation using a relational database system.
The students would have to prepare their evaluation of some database system, submit a database design based on user requirements, and provide corresponding queries for quite complex information requests.
