This course explains different theories as causes
of crime and its use to understanding human, criminal and deviant behaviors. As
a daunting and complex field, the understanding of the question “why some
people commit crime or why did you do that?” offers a bevy of research
approaches in an attempt to answer that question. Knowing the cause of crime also
can be the basis of the court in the imposition of liabilities and the basis of
the correction pillar in determining the appropriate rehabilitation/reformation
program in case of conviction.
