The course discusses concepts for strategic systems planning and development, and strategic role of information systems and technologies in an organization. It explores how technology and information can be best used to achieve the organization’s goal and in doing so gain strategic and competitive advantage. It also presents planning guidelines to help students conduct the strategic planning process in a more efficient manner. Furthermore, this course will provide students a perspective on how to align solutions toward the overall success of an organization.
At the end of the course, the students are expected to design a Strategic Information System Plan for an organization of their own choice.
