This course provides an overview of information management and business intelligence functions. It also provides knowledge on database design and the use of SQL. It basically aims to teach students to integrate business intelligence functions in the development of a database system. The topics cover information management, basic database terminology, data modelling, SQL theory, implementation using the relational database systems and application of business intelligence functions.
The students would have to present the implemented database at the end of the semester.
