Basic Communication and Thinking Skills promotes the integrated approach
to teaching English. This integrates English communication and language as well
as reading competencies and develops the students’ functional linguistic and
communication skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Opportunities
for honoring the three levels or dimensions of reading: the literal,
inferential, and critical, are also provided.
